Credits Policy
Introduction
This Credits Policy explains how credits work on Video Compressor—including how they are sold, how they are consumed when you compress videos, and under what circumstances refunds may be available.
By purchasing a credit pack, you agree to the terms described on this page. If you have questions at any time, please contact us.
1. Purchasing Credits
Credit packs, not subscriptions
Video Compressor sells one-time credit packs. There is no subscription required. You buy credits when you need them and use them at your own pace. Credits in our standard packs do not expire (lifetime validity unless we state otherwise at checkout).
Base pricing
Our standard rate is approximately $0.10 USD per credit. Each credit covers one video compression.
Credit packs on the Pricing page bundle credits at promotional prices. Larger packs may include additional savings compared to list prices shown on the Pricing page. You can choose the pack that best matches your expected usage.
| Example pack | Credits | Price | Effective value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 80 | $7.99 | ~$0.10 per credit |
| Standard | 200 | $19.99 | ~$0.10 per credit |
| Plus | 400 | $39.99 | ~$0.10 per credit |
| Professional | 800 | $79.99 | ~$0.10 per credit |
(Exact prices and pack sizes may change; the Pricing page always shows current offers.)
Payment
Purchases are processed through our secure payment provider (e.g. Stripe). After a successful payment, credits are added to your account and can be used immediately for video compression.
2. Using Credits
What credits are for
Credits are used only to pay for video compression on Video Compressor.
Each compression shows the number of credits required before you start. Video compression costs 1 credit per video unless we state otherwise at checkout. Always check the stated amount before confirming a compression.
Failed compressions
We want you to pay only for work that completes successfully.
If a compression fails on our side, we refund the credits consumed for that attempt to your account. You should see your balance restored after the failure is confirmed. If you believe a refund for a failed job was not applied, contact us with the time of the attempt and we will investigate.
Credits are non-transferable
Credits are tied to your Video Compressor account. They cannot be transferred, sold, gifted, or shared with another user or account.
3. Refunds
General rule
Because credits are a digital product delivered instantly, all credit sales are generally final once the purchase is completed and credits are credited to your account.
24-hour refund window (unused credits)
To protect your rights, we offer a limited refund option within 24 hours of purchase:
- You may request a refund within 24 hours of buying a credit pack.
- We will refund the cash equivalent of your remaining unused credits at the effective rate you paid for that pack (purchase price ÷ total credits purchased).
- Credits you have already spent on successful compressions are not refundable.
Example
- You buy the Starter pack: 80 credits for $7.99.
- Within 24 hours, you have used 40 credits and have 40 credits remaining.
- Refundable amount: 40 ÷ 80 × $7.99 = $4.00 (rounded to two decimal places).
We may ask for your account email and order details to process the request. Refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible and may take several business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
What we do not refund
- Requests made after 24 hours from purchase (except where required by applicable law).
- Credits already consumed for completed or partially delivered compressions.
- Chargebacks filed without contacting us first—we encourage you to reach out so we can resolve issues quickly.
